SLPs often ask how EASI and SALT compare. This free white paper gives a fair, sourced answer: they are two different kinds of software, and each one is a strong fit for a different part of the work.

EASI, from iTherapy, LLC, covers the range of caseload work in one web based workspace: caseload management, plus scheduling (in beta), evaluation reports that fill your uploaded clinic or district template (in beta), measurable SMART IEP goals that EASI drafts for your review, SOAP and therapy notes, progress reports, therapy materials, Lightspeed Literacy, talking core boards in English and Spanish, and MySLP for lesson plans, data sheets, AAC supports and home programs. Language samples are part of that, scored only after you review and attest each line.

SALT (Systematic Analysis of Language Transcripts) is dedicated language sample analysis software, known for its transcription conventions, standard reports and built in reference databases for comparing a speaker with typical peers.

What's inside

A list of what EASI covers and a side by side table comparing the two tools.

A capability chart, a diagram of where each tool fits across an SLP's week, and a simple decision guide.

Published pricing for both tools and answers to the questions SLPs ask most.

Key points

Choose SALT if your main need is comparing a language sample against reference databases of typical speakers.

Choose EASI if you want one place for reports, IEP goal drafts, therapy plans, materials, AAC supports and progress reports.

Use both if you rely on SALT's databases and also want help with the work around them.

With EASI, you stay in charge. EASI doesn't decide diagnosis or eligibility, and you review, edit and approve every draft.
